How Does Coworking...Work?

By now, you've probably heard the buzz that's been building about The Hive. Dozens of our community's most creative, kind, and cool creators have already made The Hive their home. We've been hearing raves about our large, airy common areas and modern, brand-new workspaces. Of course, mountain views and super-fast Wifi don't hurt. Still, trendy as it is becoming, coworking is a new concept here in Palm Springs. If it's new to you, you might be wondering: How does coworking, well, work?

Although coworking is new to Palm Springs, it's been a popular workplace solution in other cities for many years.

First of all, you don't have to own your own business or work from home in order to benefit from coworking. (Although, that's pretty much who it's made for.)

Many of the walk-in visitors to The Hive normally work in an office, but find themselves in one of the following types of situations. Who uses coworking?

They're visiting from L.A. and need to Skype in to a work meeting.

They're in Palm Springs for a lunch meeting from the East Valley, and need to bang out some work before heading back on the road.

They're retired but need to send a few emails before meeting friends for lunch in town.

There are so many reasons to try coworking. One thing most of our visitors have in common is a need for Wifi, and a desire to use it in a place that's comfortable, welcoming, and filled with friendly, creative, and professional people. (Free coffee? That's a bonus.)

Our walk-ins grab a hot desk right alongside long-term members who rent dedicated desks or private offices to run their businesses or work remotely. There's always a great mix of people buzzing around our airy, light-filled community!

If you're interested in checking out The Hive for the day, it's super simple to do:

1. Come to The Hive! We're located in the heart of Palm Springs at 1801 E Tahquitz Canyon Way, with plenty of covered parking.

2. Let our community manager Lilly know you want to grab a desk. She'll set you up, give you the Wifi password, and you'll be good to go! Stay as long or as little as you like. Take a break for lunch or a walk around the neighborhood. Your $25 pass covers you all day long.

If you'd rather check out your options and sign up beforehand, visitour member portal.

There, you can see and book our desks and conference room space by filling in your billing information and going to "Shop."

It's pretty easy to join an entirely new and invigorating community: for an hour, a day, or for longer. We hope you'll join us in Palm Springs' first true coworking space!
